London uses Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in winter and British Summer Time (BST, UTC+1) from late March to late October. The city is the historical reference for world time — the Royal Observatory in Greenwich gave us the prime meridian (0° longitude) and, by extension, the global standard for telling time.
